It's actually pretty good, it did not get the high ratings as they used unknowns. The only thing that let it down was Kevin Leslie as Reggie Kray who just was backround most of the fim, Simon Cotton the other brother Ronnie was very good.

Re: That Kray film, Legend.
I read a review of this movie thst suggested that the reality of an English gangsters story is that it just isnt that interesting in comparison to the American immigrant's story. I think that is part of the problem with the film. Mostly it is too long and doesnt quite find a focus. Even more important was it didnt add a single new thing to the Gangster genre.
I still enjoyed it though.

"Bale was born in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, the son of English parents, Jenny (née James), a circus performer, and David Bale, a South African-born entrepreneur, commercial pilot and talent manager.[5][6][7] Bale has three sisters.[8] He has stated, "I was born in Wales but I'm not Welsh – I'm English".[2] He spent his childhood in Wales, Surrey and Dorset in England, and Portugal.[9][10] He attended Bournemouth School, but left at age 16"

Re: That Kray film, Legend.
I quite enjoyed it 7/10.

I think the film faltered from being told from Frances' perspective and focusing too much on her and Reg's relationship. Some aspects seemed rushed and at times I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a gritty drama/romance/dark comedy.

Tom Hardy was excellent in it. One of the my favourite actors going at the moment but he's some way off the greatest English actor of all time (Gary Oldman) who he agrees is the greatest. I'd put Hardy alongside Bale as the two best English actors of a generation.

My mate has done teh soundtrack for a new Essex Boys film (Law of the land or something like that??)... I watched 30 mins of it last night and I have to say in all the films I have ever seen ... and being an ex manager of a video shop back in the 80's... is a fucking lot... but that shit last night is without doubt the worst piece of cinematic horse shit I have and ever will see.... HORSE SHIT

Oh me mates soundtrack is the only redeeming thing

Thought it was pretty average and I'm surprised about the rave reviews...

Of course, Tom Hardy's acting in playing both brothers is impressive but, overall, I just thought the film was pretty average...

6/10...

Tom Hardy is a decent actor, but the best English actor has to be that fella who played Spider in Corrie.. Now that is an actor.

I'm not into all this greatest ever stuff as a lot is personal preference and objective.
Just enjoy the good ones , I don't see the need for a league table like FOOTBALL.
That said Hardy is very good. Also like Michael Fassbender.
He is in a version of Macbeth with Marion Cottilliard that is directed by the guy who did Snowtown that is in the cinema Friday week. That should be brilliant
